The value of virtual simulations for academic leadership development

ETU - Conor Gaffney, Chief Product Officer, and Thomas Lewis, Director of Learning Solutions

ETU's Chief Product Officer, Conor Gaffney, and Thomas Lewis, Director of Learning Solutions, recently contributed an article to Academic Leader that focused on how academic institutions and their leaders can benefit from experiential simulations adopted as a professional development tool in higher education.

The article examines how crucial leadership training is for faculty and administrators to effectively guide departments, and how simulation learning can support academic leadership development. Leadership training equips academic leaders with specific skills to navigate these demands.

Adopted as a leadership training tool in higher education, experiential simulations can benefit deans, chairs, and other academic leads in many of the same ways that they benefit students whose courses use simulations as pedagogical tools.
